Jon is a CICOES Research Scientist in the Global Observations of Biogeochemistry and Ocean Physics (GOBOP) group at PMEL. His research is centered around changes to biogeochemical processes and elemental distributions in the ocean that are associated with anthropogenic perturbations to the earth system. He also works with the PMEL carbon group on issues of ocean carbon uptake and ocean acidification. To investigate these phenomena, Jon uses measurements from the global array of biogeochemical Argo profiling floats – as well as research vessels, fixed ocean moorings, and other observational platforms.
