Modeling solutions for short-term inundation forecasting for tsunamis

Titov, V.V., and F.I. González

In Underwater Ground Failures on Tsunami Generation, Modeling, Risk and Mitigation, NATO Advanced Workshop, Istanbul, Turkey, 23–26 May 2001, 227–230 (2002)

This work discusses modeling approaches to forecast tsunami inundation amplitudes immediately following a potentially tsunamigenic earthquake. This Short-term Inundation Forecast (SIFT) is essential for effective tsunami warning procedures.
