    NeMO 1999 Scientific staff in the main lab of the R/V Thompson after a successful cruise to Axial Volcano. Highlights of the cruise included the discovery of the southern end of the 1998 lava flow, recovery of the Rumbleometer (stuck in the lava), microbes that survive at 110oC, and the many samples collected for future analysis.
