The Autonomous Surface Vehicle CO2 (ASVCO2) systems were designed to augment the spatial and temporal coverage of ocean-atmosphere carbon measurements. They have been deployed on different types of uncrewed surface vehicles (Wave Glider and Saildrone) in various parts of the world's ocean to assist carbon cycle research. ASVCO2 generation 2 (gen2) is a smaller form-factor, lower power version of the original design. An updated gas analyzer sensor from Licor allows for increased CO2 accuracy. The improved CO2 accuracy of this system will contribute to the better understanding of our oceans and atmosphere. ASVCO2 gen2 is technically a plug and play sensor to be added to just about any sea-going surface vehicle or platform.
