Data Overview
- Full glider data set for the Solomon Sea consisting of dive-by-dive quality-controlled temperature and salinity profiles and vertically-averaged velocity for all missions. No temporal or spatial filtering is applied to the profiles. This data set is produced and distributed by the Instrument Development Group (IDG) at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla CA.
At PMEL we derive additional products by analyzing coast-to-coast sections and climatologies from the full data set above. Summary of the analysis methods, sample figures and downloadable files with the products are listed below.
- Solomon Sea Transport: cross-Sea integrated geostrophic transport for all available coast-to-coast sections.
- Mean and Climatology of Solomon Sea Currents, Temperature and Salinity: mean and a 12-month annual cycle of velocity, temperature and salinity along the average glider cross-sea sections.
