Out of memory in LAS

Hello,

I'm trying to view a "large" 2-D grid (2160 columns by 1080 rows) of short integers in LAS and I get a 500: Internal Server Error. When I look through the web server error log I see this message (among other stuff):

 **ERROR: insufficient memory: 2330640 words were requested.

In my .XML configuration file I have set the memsize parameter to its maximum value:

 <lasdata>
        <institution name="NGDC Global Ecosystems Database" url=""http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/seg/fliers/se-2006.shtml" /">http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/seg/fliers/se-2006.shtml"/>
       <properties>
                <ferret>
                         <memsize>127</memsize>
                </ferret>
        </properties>
What am I doing wrong, or what do I need to be doing?
