[ferret_users] Installation problem in IBM_AIX

Dear Ferreters:

I am a user of Ferret in Linux for several years, and want to install 
Ferret in IBM AIX computers in NOAA World Weather Building where almost 
all pepole are using Grads. I believe pepole will like Ferret, based on 
my experience in Ferret and Grads. However, I encountered a problem 
during installation procedure:

I ftp all the files via anonymous ftp at
ferret.wrc.noaa.gov
cd pub/ibm_aix
binary
prompt
mget

The files are put at my user directory:
b1n15 /gpfsuser/g03/wx52bh/TOOL/FERRET 251 > ls
FERRET_VERSION_HERE_IS_v445           fer_executables.tar.Z
Fpatch                                ferret/

directory ferret and fer_dsets were created.
The installation procedure (1) was successful.
The installation procedure (2) have a problem in "finding" the 
fer_dsets/. When I entered the abosolute path for fer_dsets
/gpfsuser/g03/wx52bh/TOOL/FERRET/fer_dsets
I got the following message:

(1,2, or 3) --> 2

Setup ferret_paths...

Enter the complete path of the directory where the 'fer_environment'
tar file was installed (FER_DIR). The location recommended
in the FERRET installation guide was '/usr/local/ferret'.
FER_DIR --> /gpfsuser/g03/wx52bh/TOOL/FERRET/ferret

Enter the complete path of the directory where the 'fer_dsets'
tar file was installed (FER_DSETS).
FER_DSETS --> /gpfsuser/g03/wx52bh/TOOL/FERRET/fer_dsets
The FERRET demonstration data files are not in 
/gpfsuser/g03/wx52bh/TOOL/FERRET/fer_dsets...
Enter the complete path of the directory where the 'fer_dsets'
tar file was installed (FER_DSETS).
FER_DSETS -->

It seems that the installation software can not find the directory which 
IS created correctly. What is the problem? Did I do something wrong?

If somebody did install Ferret in AIX computer, please help me the 
problem. Otherwise, I wish the Ferret developers look into the problem. 
I tried to install Ferret for several times, and got the same problem 
which never happened in Linux version.
