Symposium on Ocean Acidification

Washington Sea Grant is hosting a Symposium on Ocean Acidification, Wednesday, Nov 9th, at the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture. Titled Ocean Acidification: It's Not Just for Oysters Anymore, this free half-day event is intended for scientists, shellfish growers, fishermen, resource managers, policy makers, educators and others who want to understand what ocean acidification means for our regional marine ecosystem.

The program will include a presentation about the impacts of ocean acidification on the Washington shellfish industry, a scientific panel moderated by PMEL Senior Scientist Richard Feely and a policy/public perceptions panel moderated by former U.S. Congressman, the Honorable Brian Baird, author of the 2009 Federal Ocean Acidification Research and Monitoring Act.
