TAO/EPIC logo Intercomparison at WHOI
Last updated:

In order to verify the comparability of the TAO, IMET, and TRITON surface meteorology and flux systems, a landbased intercomparison took place at WHOI for two months (May-June 2000). Photos of the test platform are shown below. Realtime daily averaged data are also shown below, and should be considered preliminary. High resolution data are currently being analyzed and a technical report documenting the results is in progress.

The intercomparison was performed by staff from WHOI, JAMSTEC, the PMEL Engineering Development Division, and the TAO Project Office. Funding for this study was provided by NOAA and JAMSTEC.
