These ECMWF Net Solar Radiation timeseries look odd to me:

Several latitudes have 6-hourly values that are negative (solar radiation cools the ocean???)

The amplitude is about a factor of 2? too small.

latitudes j=1:4 (starts from the south)
latitudes j=5:8 (starts from the south)
latitudes j=9:12 (starts from the south)
latitudes j=13:16 (starts from the south)
latitudes j=17:20 (starts from the south)
