Re: proper way to remove a dataset?

Hi Charlton,

Would you please send examples of las.xml before and after you remove a dataset.  Would you also include the version of LAS you are configuring, and its URL?

Thank you,

Joe McLean

Hi there:

I have never been able to successfully physically remove a dataset from disk w/o disturbing LAS.I thought it would be OK to manually delete the references to the to-be-deleted dataset completely from las.xml (all data references and their children), remove the netCDF file from disk, and then regenerate las.xml via genLas.xml.The genLas.xml works fine, but when it comes time to realize the data (produce output) on another dataset, LAS in unhappy and complains that whatever file I deleted is unavailable.

What is the secret?

Thanks,

Charlton
