Mark,

	I don't have any insight on your @MOD vs @MODVAR question, but just to
put my 2 cents in, I have the same problem with the partial crashing. And I am
also running 4.91 on an SGI (IRIX 6.5).

It seems to be very random, sometimes it will happen after I have entered 50
commands, and sometimes after 3 commands. And I haven't figured out any
associated pattern.

	And the only solution I have come up with is the one you are already
doing (quit and restart ferret).
