[ferret_users] absolute time

Hi ferreters,

What is the best way to use variables with absolute time axis ?
This was proposed in GDT but no more in the CF convention.
Some tools can handle them correctly like CDO or Panopoly.

http://www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/panoply/help/panoply_A.pdf
https://code.zmaw.de/embedded/cdo/1.4.6/cdo.html#x1-230001.5.1

Here is an extract of such file

variables:
float time(time) ;
                time:units = "calendar_month as %Y%m.%f" ;
data:
time = 209000.5, 209001.5, 209002.5, 209003.5, 209004.5, 209005.5, 209006.5,
    209007.5, 209008.5, 209009.5, 209010.5, 209011.5, 209100.5, 209101.5,
    209102.5, 209103.5, 209104.5, 209105.5, 209106.5, 209107.5, 209108.5,
    209109.5, 209110.5
