Re: [ferret_users] convert color figure to black figure

Another idea is to use PATTERN palettes, which are a bit more bold than greyscales. Try this demo script to see how this looks, reading along with the commands as they're executed:

yes? go pattern_demo

The Unix command-line Fpalette lists palette files available, so to search for palette files whose names include "grey"
> Fpalette grey
and Fpattern returns a list of pattern palettes:
> Fpattern pattern

Here is an FAQ showing how to combine palette and pattern palettes and draw a color key that combines both

Hi,

You can put the following line in the beginning of the code

  palette=greyscale.spk

 or

  palette=grayscale.spk

check the FER_DIR/ppl directory for other palettes

This will use grayscale for your picture.

Hi,

   Usually we make shading contour using fill, or shade in ferret, and the picture is colorful. Now I am going to use black/white instead. How can I convert the color figure to black/white one within ferret or with unit command?

   Thanks!
