Hi,
Also note that the parts of the CONSET command that affect labels on
the contours, are also available as qualifiers to the CONTOUR command;
if these are the settings you want to make, they are more easily done,
with no need for a PPL call, by using the qualifier.
CONTOUR/SIZE,
CONTOUR/SIGDIG, and CONTOUR/SPACING are alternative implementations of
the PPL CONSET command. /SIZE is equivalent to hgt, /SIGDIG is nsig,
and /SPACING is dslab.

What do you mean by "smoothing". I don't think CONSET has anything to
do with smoothing.
The use of those old PPL settings (argument CAY to CONSET) work only on
the line-drawing routines. No one has thought about them for more than
20 years. Much better to do smoothing on the data itself using the
Ferret transformations @SBX, @SPZ, etc. If nothing else, the Ferret
transformations are documented and the smoothing quantifiable, whereas
what CAY does is is unpredictable.

Dear Ferreters,
I am a student from Hungary and programming in ferret as a beginner.
Ferret comes up to my expectations, but i just have not found anything
about color-filled contour smoothing. Neither in archives.
I know this works:
contour/line/set/...
ppl conset ...
ppl contour/line
but this does not:
fill/set/ ...
ppl conset ...
ppl fill
If it helps, i am using version 5.51 on XP.
Thanks in advance,
