The use of those old PPL settings (argument CAY to CONSET) work only on the line-drawing routines. No one has thought about them for more than 20 years. Much better to do smoothing on the data itself using the Ferret transformations @SBX, @SPZ, etc. If nothing else, the Ferret transformations are documented and the smoothing quantifiable, whereas what CAY does is is unpredictable.

Dear Ferreters,I am a student from Hungary and programming in ferret as a beginner. Ferret comes up to my expectations, but i just have not found anything about color-filled contour smoothing. Neither in archives.I know this works: contour/line/set/... ppl conset ... ppl contour/line but this does not: fill/set/ ... ppl conset ... ppl fill If it helps, i am using version 5.51 on XP.
