Re: "getting" the coast line
Hi Jean,
The code that Ferret calls to draw contours is deep down in the PlotPlus
package. It's done in page coordinates rather than the original
physical coordinates, and is computed as the drawing is done. It is not
saved in memory. It would of course be possible to put in a hack to
write out these values and the scaling that's used, but it's not
possible to get this out directly.
Might an answer be to regrid to a very fine grid and see where the
result crosses zero, perhaps with the @EVNT transformation?
Another resource is the coastline extractor tool, which is described in
