dods problem on RH7.1

Well, actually RH 8.0, but I've had to redirect ferret to use 7.1
compatibility libraries per the recommendations in the installation
instructions and messages on this list.  I can provide more details if
someone thinks this is the culprit.

All the tutorials and demos work great except "dods_demo" and
"dods_winds_demo."  Here's what I get when I use a dods dataset:


yes? set data
"http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/nph-nc/data/coads_climatology.nc";
 ** netCDF error: Invalid Argument
 is this a CDF file ?


I get the same message when running the demos.  The dods server is
functioning fine according to the web browser and other clients.
