FW: Xcsetcolour

Dear Ferreters,
I guess I pulled the trigger a little too quickly.  I found the problem with the XcSetColour and turned out to be operator error.  I had only set the color depth to 256.  Once I changed to "thousands" the problem went away.
Sorry to bother you.

Has anyone gotten the following message, XcSetColour: Couldn't allocate X color: RGB = 6679 41992 17656?  If so, how did you resolve it?  I did create the soft link in the X11 defaults.  FYI, I am running Ferret 5.53 in Linux (tsch shell) under VMWARE.
Thanks in advance,
