frame/file map saving problem

Dear Ferreters,

I have tried this on Ferret on Linux RH 9 and Windows 2000. 
With Jon Callahan's help I created a map based on the example from the link
below.

When I issue the following command

frame/file=cbay.gif

ferret hangs forever, and I do not get the prompt back. 
Does anyone have any ideas on whats going on?
