Isabelle,

    The v5 version of ferret for IRIX is not a complete version. In particular
it does not include DODS support nor, I believe, full support for external
variables.

    In addition, I have found a number of problems with the v5 version for
IRIX, and would recommend that you should use v4.91 instead.
