At this time, it is anticipated that conditions will permit the deployment of seven (7) subsurface Bering Sea moorings and the completion of two CTD lines. Subject to change, at the Chief Scientist's discretion, the mooring operations will proceed as follows: F-96BSM-3 subsurface deployment, F-96BSM-3 ADCP deployment, F-96BSM-2A subsurface deployment, F-96BSM-2B subsurface deployment, F-96BSM-2 ADCP deployment, CTD line of eight stations between F-96BS-3 and F-96BS-2 (see attached table), F-96BSM-7 deployment, F-96BSM-6 deployment, and, if time permits, a CTD line of nine stations between F-96BSM-6 and F-96BSM-7. Since the second CTD line is time and depth dependent, the exact positions of the CTDs on the line between F-96BSM-6 and F-96BSM-7 will be determined during the cruise.
Mooring F-96BSM-2 has been changed from 56° 55' N, 165° 08' W to
Moorings F-96BSM-6 and F-96BSM-7 are depth dependent and may vary from the estimated positions listed in the final cruise instructions.
Two bongo tows - one at each of the ADCP TRAP deployment sites - will be completed during MF96-01: one at F-96BS-2 and one at F-96BS-3.
After the shakedown cruise, the radiometer and tattletale board were brought back to Seattle for repair. The radiometer has been bench tested; it meets the manufacturer's specifications. Currently the tattletale board for the radiometer is being checked out by the manufacturer.
