R/V Atlantis preparing for sea in Astoria, OR.

NeMO 2007 is on the R/V Atlantis, August 3-20, 2007.

The cruise visits Endeavour's main hydrothermal venting field for several days before operations begin at Axial Volcano.

Planned for 2007 are detailed mapping of the caldera floor with MBARI's AUV, water sampling at hydrothermal venting locations, long-term instrument deployments, high-definition (HDTV surveys), and biology sampling.
