[ferret_users] x-axis label

Dear ferret users,

I have a question over how to label the x-axis in calendar month like 
nov.1-30 dec.1-31. I want to plot a time-series with horizontal axis as 
time and vertical as rain or wind. Now the horizontal axis just labeled 
as 1-62 (nov-dec). I like to have it as nov.1-dec.31. Is it possibel to 
do this?
