Hi,
       You had not used 'set grid'.  But for me If I dont use set grid i get a different error on Ferret v6.72
try set grid t2m
then go mp_aspect

yes? FILL/NOAXES/NOLAB t2m, x_page, y_page 
**ERROR: inconsistent sizes of data regions: X axis of X position array
