Re: [ferret_users] taylor diagram with room for negative correlation

I'm forwarding you a response to the same question that was sent to the ferret list back in November. Three revised Taylor-diagram routines offer an additional argument where you can specify the number of quadrants (1 or 2).

Ansley, it would be nice to update the Taylor-diagram ferret routines in the next version of the Ferret distribution with those in the attached tar archive.

Greetings All,

I am trying to generate a Taylor diagram with two quadrants in Ferret, thereby allowing negative correlations to be displayed, in a similar manner to Taylor's 2001 paper. Has anyone generated these plots/modified this scripts, or know how to do this?

I am not having a great deal of success modifying the Taylor diagrams jnl files that are part of Ferret.
Hi Andrew,

Attached a tar ball with taylor scripts.
Please, play taylor_example1.jnl, taylor_example2.jnl, taylor_example3.jnl
to see how to use them.
Inside documentation as usual: yes? go/h taylor...

To get 2 quadants
yes? set w 1
yes? go taylor_frame.jnl 3 .2 " " "Standard Deviation (units)" 2
