Hi Nuncio, We've been having trouble sending mail to your address (the error is that the message is "rejected by the recipient domain"), but at least this should reach you through the Ferret list. There should not be a difference between specifying 1-jan-2012:00:00 and just 1-jan-2012 for daily data, and I am not able to reproduce what you're seeing. I searched for pres.sfc.2012.nc and downloaded this file: ftp://ftp.cdc.noaa.gov/Datasets/ncep.reanalysis.dailyavgs/surface/pres.sfc.2012.nc And running the rhel6 Ferret executable (is your system 64-bit, or 32-bit?) here is my session: > ./flat64/bin/ferret The resulting plots are attached. I'm not sure what could cause what you're seeing. Did you use PPL CLSPLT to clear the graphics between different plots? Perhaps check the dataset and your Ferret installation. -Ansley On 4/25/2012 1:42 AM, nuncio@xxxxxxxxx wrote: HI , I used just the "contour" command contour/y=-45/t=1-jan-2012:31-jan-2012 pres but this improve if I issue contour/y=-45/t="1-jan-2012 00:00:00":"31-jan-2012 13:00:00" pres anything less than 31-jan-2012 13:00:00 wont work If I want to plot for the first 15 days, 1-15 jan 2012, above syntax does'nt work but, contour/y=-45/t="1-jan-2012 00:00:00":"15-jan-2012 00:00:00" pres works Is this a problem with NetCDF file ? but why Ferret is confused here I am not getting ! file used is pres.sfc.2012.nc daily ncep surface pressure Ferret is loaded on openSuSE12.1 Best regards nuncio Nuncio Murukesh Scientist.
