YMC-BSM-2020

Overview

YMC-BSM 2020 is designed to study boreal summer monsoon with special focus on atmospheric convection associated with northward propagating Boreal Summer Intraseasonal Oscillation (BSISO). While this field campaign was originally designed to take place at various sites in June - August, it was postponed or partially canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

R/V Mirai: C-Pol Doppler Radar, Micro Rain Radar, Lidar, Ceilometer, Disdrometer, Radiosonde (8 times/day), GNSS-derived Water Vapor, Microwave Radiometer, Surface Meteorology, Isotope Measurement (rain, water vapor), MAX-DOAS, Aerosol Measurement, Greenhouse Gasses Measurements, Sky Radiometer, CTD, ADCP, Sea Surface Monitoring (TSG), m-TRITON, ASV (Wave-glider), Argo Float, Surface Drifter (Surpact), etc.
Philippines: PAGASA Legaspi Site - Radiosonde (4 times/day)
Palau: Aimeliik Suginohara Site - Lidar, Disdrometer, Surface meteorology Palau Weather Service Site (US NOAA/NWS) - Radiosonde (4 times/day)
Yap: Yap Weather Service Site (US NOAA/NWS) - Radiosonde (4 times/day)
