[las_users] Re: Compute average error using LAS 8.6.8 (thredds 4.6.10) and 8.6.9 (thredds 4.6.11)

Penny,

Troubleshooting for F-TDS and analysis in LAS.

Look in the webapps/las/output directory for files of the form [key]_debug.txt. See if you can find such a file with an OPeNDAP URL that ends in .jnl.

If you can, put that URL in a browser that has access to the TDS/F-TDS server and see what the error message is when the page loads. Often, using the OPeNDAP client library we don't get a usable error message returned to us to display, but the browser will get one trying to load the HTML interface to the OPeNDAP data set.

Finally, note if you are using Tomcat 8.5 or greater there is one more required configuration step. I updated the documentation page.

A component needed for your request is down or was not installed.

The instructions at https://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/LAS/documentation/installer-documentation/installation/installing-and-integrating-tds-with-las  were followed.

LAS 8.6.9  was installed on a standalone server and the compute over option worked.

This error appears in Catalina.out:

2019-04-17 09:25:42,493 ERROR [ajp-nio-8009-exec-12] server.ProductServerAction (ProductServerAction.java:928) - IO error testing FTDS URL = "" java.io.IOException: opendap.dap.DAP2Exception: opendap.dap.DAP2Exception: Not a valid OPeNDAP server - Missing MIME Header fields! Either "XDAP" or "XDODS-Server." must be present.

LAS 8.6.9  was installed on a standalone server and the compute over option worked.

Any help or troubleshooting assistance would be appreciated!
