[las_users] Re: Netcdf error -90 trying to use LAS Difference mode with LAS 8.6.3 and Ferret v7.3

Hi Penny,

The F-TDS component of LAS isn't working on this server.  This capability creates virtual variables such as differences, as well as the "analysis" operations such as computing an average over time. I see that the analysis operations are also not working in this LAS.

The documentation and ideas for debugging the F-TDS in your LAS are here -

Using LAS 8.6.3 and Ferret v7.3 and Thredds 4.6.10, I am able to display a plot and then use the Compare 2 option to display a second plot for a variable.  However, when I select the “Difference Mode”, I get the following error:
 **netCDF error
NetCDF: file not found (OPeNDAP/netCDF Error code -90)
             Data set: https://mynasadata.larc.nasa.gov/thredds/dodsC/las/atmos_temp/data_https___mynasadata.larc.nasa.gov_thredds_dodsC_presairtemp_agg.jnl
Old emails seem to indicate that error –90 means there is something wrong with the url but it appears to be the same url used when displaying the two data sets side by side. This error occurs for aggregation datasets, single file datasets, and files with and without init_scripts.
To reproduce the problem, go to mynasadata.larc.nasa.gov, under Explore MY NASA Data, select “Earth System Data Explorer” (top right). Under Data Set, select Atmosphere, Temperatures, any of the AIRS datasets.
I have recently removed the las.war file on this server. However, I get the same error on a development server which does have the las.war and las server.
