Re: [las_users] Precisions in ASCII and CSV outputs

Hi Rosanna,
This isn't something that's directly configurable. I put the dataset into a LAS V8 server, where we've made a small change to the ASCII and CSV listings to show one or two more decimal places in the variable listed. Here's the start of a CSV listing of a line in longitude:
Total Number of Records 32.
             DATA SET: http://thredds.jpl.nasa.gov/thredds/dodsC/GHRSST_NCDC-L4LRblend-GLOB-AVHRR_AMSR_OI_TIMEAGG/aggregate__ghrsst_NCDC-L4LRblend-GLOB-AVHRR_AMSR_OI.ncml
             X: 0.5 to 32.5
Column 1: DATETIME is Time String BAD FLAG : -1.E+34
Column 2: TIME is Time Coordinates (seconds since 01-JAN-1981 00:00:00) BAD FLAG : -1.E+34
Column 3: LON is Longitude (degrees_east) BAD FLAG : -1.E+34
Column 4: LAT is Latitude (degrees_north) BAD FLAG : -1.E+34
Column 5: ANALYSED_SST is analysed sea surface temperature (kelvin) BAD FLAG : -1.E+34

"01-JUN-2002",6.75734E+08,155.125,29.375,295.51

and the ascii listing:
VARIABLE : analysed sea surface temperature (kelvin)
             FILENAME : aggregate__ghrsst_NCDC-L4LRblend-GLOB-AVHRR_AMSR_OI.ncml

             SUBSET : 32 points (LONGITUDE)

154.4E	295.75
154.6E	295.76
154.9E	295.67
155.1E	295.51

Would that be adequate?  If you can update to LAS V8, you'd get this, or it is a change I could help you make in the LAS v7.3 there at jpl.

Hello there,

How can I configure LAS so that a variable that is originally of 16 bit Interger type return (ASCII or CSV) values to 2 decimal places after the scale factor and add_offset are automatically applied when a user select any of the options:
[Show Values]
[Save As - (ASCII or CSV)]

 select
Ocean Temperature
-  GHRSST Level 4 AVHRR_OI Global Blended Sea Surface Temperature
   - -  analysed sea surface temperature

Thanks so much,
Rosanna.
