[las_users] Re: Ferret crash trying to produce a timeline in LAS 7.3 and Las 8

Penny,
It looks as if this is fixed when using the netCDF 4.3 library.  Our next release of Ferret is linked with that version of netCDF.

In both LAS 7.3 and LAS 8, I am able to produce a timeline for a particular dataset for Jan 01 2000 to Jul 30 2000 and from Jul 30 2000 to Dec 31 2000 but when I try to produce one timeline for Jan 01 2000 to Dec 31 2000, I get the dreaded "ERROR Ferret crash; signal = 11".

I also get a Ferret crash if I use the Jan 01 – Sep 30 2000 but if I use Aug 01 to Sep 30 2000, I get a good plot.  I also get a plot for Jan 01 2000 to Jan 01 2005.

I suspect I have one or more daily data sets that are problematic.  How do I find the offending dataset(s) since this is an aggregation?

To duplicate this error in LAS 7.3 go to the website http://mynasadata.larc.nasa.gov/las/getUI.do, under Oceans, choose Daily Sea Surface Temperature (GHRSST), and select the dates above.   This server is using Ferret v6.842 and netcdf-4.1.3.

Thanks for any assistance.
