Re: [las_users] LAS v7.3 is now available

Hi-
It could well be due to the netCDF version. We link with 4.1.2 because some additions were made in that version that let some of our collaborators implement some authentication that they needed to use.

We'll take the discussion off-line and see if we can find ways to explore further.

Hi Ansley,

thanks for your answer!
I have another Ferret v6.71 problem:
If I want to open an OPeNDAP URL for the AVISO SSH data set in this version, it takes minutes to plot it. If I open the netCDF file directly, it takes seconds. If I shade the same OPeNDAP-link in Ferret v.6.62 it also takes seconds.

yes? shade grid_0001

This plot takes minutes in 6.71!

The Error message with LatLon is not important, because I don't use the LatLon-variable (and Ferret neither). I also removed LatLon from thenetCDF file: nothing changes. Unfortunately you cannot access the OPeNDAP-URL, because it is restricted to our network. Today I noticed that 6.6.2 is linked with netCDF-lib 4.1.1, and 6.7.1 with 4.1.2.

yes? SHOW SYMBOL NETCDF_VERSION
NETCDF_VERSION = "4.1.2 of Aug  2 2011 17:29:55 $"

Maybe that's the problem?

Thank you very much,
Regards,
Remon

Hi -
This is a Ferret bug, with the Ferret v6.7.1 executable on RedHat 6
machines. We have a fix for this and we're working on a release to fix
this. Please stand by.
