Roland,

Thanks for the valuable input which you had given in last mail.
  Can i have following information.

1.Is this struts framework with 1.3 or greater version ?
We use Struts 1.3.8.

  2. Is velocity template engine is at the front end for the display logic?
We use velocity to render the output for each individual operation. In the operationsV7.xml file there is an attribute on the operation element called output_template. When the product is finished, the Struts servlet passes control to the gov.noaa.pmel.tmap.las.view.LASVelocityViewServlet. This renders the output into the correct form using the template defined in the output_template attribute and passes it back to the requesting client. In the UI most of the actual display logic is JavaScript populated with data retrieved via Ajax calls, but the lower right pane that display the plots is the place where the output from the Velocity template is typically rendered.

  3. Adding new sets of functions or operations should i edit operationsV7.xml file
   for particular data set.

We've been having some discussion about what it is you might be trying to accomplish. If you want to add a regression fit line to a particular product display for particular data sets, your best bet might be to modify the existing script to calculate the fit and display the line based on the value of a property. Then you could control whether it appeared for a particular variable by adding a property to the variable definition in las.xml.

This would be easier than creating an entirely new operation.

Sarang,

Unfortunately there is no clear and easy way to accomplish what you're
asking.

The analysis operations like ave and sum that can be applied to
variables are built into the system.

If you have particular data for which you want to make available new
types of analysis you might be able to define a virtual variable using
an F-TDS data set and configure the new variable into LAS.

Thank you very much for your help.
Then another question related to this is :-
How to extend apply analysis functionality to draw trend as i attached Snap shot from the ferret command line on Linux
Is there any need to change in the java code ?
Or only XML modification will solve my purpose .

Thanks and Regards

Sarang,

The key to getting the analysis option to work correctly with LAS is to
make sure you have completed all of the steps that are outlined in this
document:

http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/LAS/documentation/installer-documentation/installation/installing-and-integrating-tds-with-las/

You can verify that the Ferret IOSP code has been installed in your TDS
by looking at $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/thredds/WEB-INF/classes/resources and
confirming the Ferret resources are installed in the "iosp" directory there.

Once the steps above have been completed and you can verify everything
is working by looking at the
http://10.4.6.26:8080/thredds/dodsC/las/coads_climatology_cdf/data_coads_climatology.jnl.html
in your browser.

The next version of LAS (7.2) which will be released shortly will test
F-TDS installation and report an error message if it is not installed
correctly.
