[las_users] problems with curvilinear data: plot_var[d=1] unknown?
We just wanted to add curvilinear Sea Ice Concentration Datasets and ran
into some problems (actually I cannot offer you an url to the LAS
because we have only a developing environment which is not online):
1. I wanted to visualize one polarstereographic dataset via an OPeNDAP
access generated by THREDDS but the following error occurred:
STOP -script mode, ERROR RUNNING SCRIPT
**netCDF error
NetCDF: DAP server error (OPeNDAP/netCDF Error code -70)
Data set: http://...
SHADE/HLIM=-180:179.4564/LEVELS=(1,100,1)/PALETTE=rainbow/HLIM=-180:179.456407695/VLIM=31.039:89.94735625/MODULO/TRIM/TITLE="concentration
of sea ice (%) Native Curvilinear Plot"/SET plot_var[d=1] , xcoord, ycoord
Command file, command group, or REPEAT execution aborted
In ferret I get the following error when executing the shade command
from above:
**ERROR: variable unknown or not in data set: PLOT_VAR[D=1]
The strange thing is that I can visualize the same dataset in LAS via
direct (file) access in the file system without problems. And I can
visualize other projections of the same data via OPeNDAP without
problems. Maybe you have a hint for me?
2. The ice concentration data are on a curvilinear grid. I managed to
visualize it by reading the online documentation. If I try to zoom in,
there are some areas which are not correctly plotted: they are bands
that are just empty (the more you get to the margin of the plot). The
LAS-documentation told me to use a map file which I should generate in
ferret, but nothing changes. Maybe you also have a tipp for that problem?
3. Can I plot curvilinear data via LAS in its original projection?
Thank you very much!
Regards,
Remon
