Those directories were missing, probably as a result of recently upgrading and degrading my TDS so that the LAS configuration was no longer present. As Roland suggested to me just now on the phone, I ran "ant deploy-iosp" to get those directories populated into my TDS installation. I can now make difference plots successfully. Awesome!!!
