Penny,

If the background images is the same in both cases then it must be the definition of the axis ranges with the <arange ...> element in the dataset configuration files.  I believe the map will always center if the range is less than global but I'm not if this is true for global ranges or whether it simply defaults to 0, 0.

Is there a way for the user to make a choice between these center points?
