[las_users] Error removing User Defined Variable

Fellow LAS users,

I get the following error when trying to remove a user defined 
variable.  We are using LAS 6.5 on a Red Hat system.

Attempt to remove user defined variable:

javax.servlet.ServletException: Can not issue data manipulation statements 
with executeQuery().
(plus lots more java exceptions)

Anyone have a solution?
