Re: [las_users] MySQL problem with LAS 6.5.1.2 on Mandriva 10.2

Hartmut,

Yup. Interesting hangup. Things start going bad if you secure the MySQL
server before installing LAS. Even reinstalling causes a problem.

I went through the process of installing ant and recompiling the .war file
to fix the MySQL error and that wasn't it. It was the fact I secured the
database after and LAS couldn't deal with the new password.

I would start with a clean slate if possible. Remove MySQL and the database
directory if possible. Then, reinstall the default MySQL, then run through
the LAS installation process with the fix for configure.pl.

I have a nearly fresh 10.2 install here on my laptop. I should try and run
through all this again... from the step of installing Ferret.

As I go through the process of a LAS install, I'll throw up documents
here:
  http://ak.aoos.org/dev/ -- probably las.html with a reference to
     ferret.html

If I run out of time before vacation, it may appear some days later
and definitely by the first week of January 2006.

Rob
