Thanks for the sugegstions.  Adding the positive=up attribute did not fix the problem.

In my LASNetCDF.pm (version 1.33) I added this line in sub genAxes() at about line number 910:

	next if $dim->getName =~ /bnds/i; 

That fixed things.
