RE: Trouble accessing local data

Hi Takuji,

MySQL 4.1 and up uses an authentication protocol based on a password hashing algorithm that is incompatible with LAS I guess. So Mysql offers a way to use the old password protocol for older client.

Check out this page...they explain how to switch to the old protocol:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/password-hashing.html

Cheers,
Jerome.

I'm sending in this question that was bounced by our email server.

-- Jon

We are trying to configure LAS 6.4.2 on Linux machine.

I get the following error when accessing local data:

---ERROR MESSAGE---
LAS Error
The following error message was received from LAS:
DBI connect('las:localhost','las',...) failed: Client does not support
authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client
at ../xml/perl/LASDB.pm line 86

---ERROR MESSAGE END---

We are having difficultly identifying the source of error.
Can anyone provide us with a clue?

Thank you

Takuji Waseda
