output format as a parameter to perl method

Hello,

I managed to make the binding between LAS and CDAT visualization
package, thanks to Dean Williams Perl module for CDAT.

As a second step, I tried to modify it in order to have the format (GIF,
PS,...) passed as a parameter to the Perl method, as it is for the perl
module for Ferret.
Initially, the Perl module from Dean had one method for each output
format: shade-GIF, shade-PS,  and so on.

So, I modified the files ui.xml  and operations.xml accordingly.
But this does not work: the format parameter is not passed in
$self->{props} hash table.

Is there a place where I should register all defined formats ?
What is wrong?
