Re: about "sister server"

All,

There's a new documentation page on sister servers that tries to make things as simple as possible.  Please have a look at:
http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/LASdoc?file=52
and make any comments you wish by clicking on [Append to This Answer] at the bottom of the page.  We will periodically go through the comments and update the documentation to address the issues you raise.

I set the operations element in las.xml of master server as following:

<operations url="">http://127.0.0.1/las-bin/LASserver.pl”>

  :

  :

</operations>

I'm so careless!
After I modified the attribute url, that is, url=""http://172.16.15.63/las-bin/LASserver.pl">http://172.16.15.63/las-bin/LASserver.pl".
It worked fine.

I guess the reason is some thing wrong in metadata db of sister server.
But we don't understand how it worked.
Any suggestion for this problem? Thanks!

Subject: about "sister server"

Hi, LAS usser,

I tried to setup a sister server with following instructions.

In host server:
./livepack.pl --create my_packagefile las.xml

In sister server:
./livepack.pl --install my_packagefile
../xml/perl/genLas.pl las.xml

It create a host's LAS user interface on sister server.
I can choose dataset, variable, and select region...
but when I want to produce product, following error message occured.

LAS Error
The following error message was received from LAS:

Can't find match target '/lasdata/datasets/mslp_2000_LAS/variables/mslp' at 'mslp_2000_LAS' at ../xml/perl/LAS.pm line 613

Who can help me?? thanks very much!
