Problem with time specification

I'm trying to install gridded model output into LAS.
LAS seems to be having problems with the time specification.
I can't figure it out. I need help.

Ferret doesn't have a problem with the data set.

But genLas.pm complains.

The data set shows up in LAS but the time is messed up.

The file is also accessable via dods
