Re: Problems downloading NVODS data where variable names are verysimilar

Hi Val,

I have rerouted this thread to the LAS users list from the FERRET users list.
I presume you are downloading netCDF files from the LAS user interface. I
think I see what you are describing. Let me know if I'm correct.

When you select multiple variables with the same 'base' name on the variable
selection page and choose the NetCDF product on the constraints page, the
resulting NetCDF file contains a single variable.

This was the result in my tests, and yes it appears to be an LAS bug driven by
the variable name issue as you mentioned. We will look into it.

BUT, if I select a single variable from the LDEO World Ocean Atlas data set,
say 'Temperature (raw)', the result appears to be the 'raw' data, not the
'std_err' data.
AND, if I select multiple variables with different 'base' names, the result is
a NetCDF file with the correct multiple variables.

Until we fix the bug, can you deal with downloading separate NetCDF files for
each variable or grouping by type ('raw', 'std_err') if you need data besides
temperature?

Thank you for pointing this out to us.
