Re: las v6.0 install

Hello All,

I'm having similar problems. My platform is RH7.2, mozilla 1.0, perl 5.6.1, Apache 2.0.42, Tomcat 4.1.

I also tried it with Apache 1.3.26/Tomcat4.04.

Joe Sirott is away this week but should be back next Tuesday. If you
could send the version information for your OS, perl, java and Apache
servers it would help him get started.

Hi all,

We've just finished installing LAS v6.0 here on two separate boxes(both Linux Red Hat v7.3) and we seem to be having problems when we get to the 'Constraints' web page with the world map applet not loading into the page. The following excerpted error is in the log file /las_servlet/jakarta/logs/localhost_log.2002-10-02.txt

2002-10-02 13:57:08 StandardManager[/las]: Seeding of random number generator has been completed 2002-10-02 13:57:08 StandardManager[/las] IOException while loading persisted sessions: java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: org.apache.velocity.runtime.parser.node.ASTMethod java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: org.apache.velocity.runtime.parser.node.ASTMethod at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject0(ObjectInputStream.java:1268)
Everything appears to run correctly with ./configure and ./startserver.sh and the httpd.conf file was modified as suggested by ./configure.
The error is generated on running the ./startserver.sh command and the problem seems to be present in both the supported versions of Netscape and IE. One of our techs here suggested that it might have to do with the velocity library files(version 1.1), but we have not been able to resolve what the problem is.
Any ideas? Anyone else outside the developer circle been able to install version 6.0 without issues?
