I wish to determine the size of my key dynamically, which has lead me into a whole host of PPL documentation/commands. The main problem I have is:
How do I assign standard Ferret variables to PPL symbols. Say I want the plot area width (the PPL symbol PPL$WIDTH) as a float in the local variable plot_area_width (defined by me). I can find the value using (ppl show ppl$width) but can't seem to assign it. I can't use:
let plot_area_width = ppl$width
or
ppl set plot_area_width ppl$width
as neither seem to work. Once this has been done I can then use
ppl shakey,,.....,,xmarg,`plot_area_width-3`,...... to produce my key
as required.
Any help appreciated,
