Net CDF to ASCII or binary

Hello,

I'd like to use the data collection which goes with Ferret for
my modeling project.

Example: I am trying to cut out the North Pacific (e.g., 120E:105W/22:62)
bottom topography out of 'etopo60.001' file which is in 'fer_dsets', then
to convert the result to ASCII file which I could read in FORTRAN.

Perhaps someone with more experience in Ferret could send me an example.
So far I tried 'USE mydata' in Ferret and got an error message:
'etopo60.001 is not a NetCDF file'. Is it really not?

                       Thank you. Grigory
