Net CDF to ASCII or binary

Hello

I work with a numerical model forced by wind stress, temperature, salinity
and bottom topography. Is there a way to use Ferret to transform the
data from NetCDF format to ASCII or binary format? This way one could
have extra benefits from data sets in NetCDF format provided along with Ferret.

More general question. Is there a way to mix Ferret commands with
FORTRAN commands?
