I am now certain that at least in some cases filename length matters.
In those cases the content cannot be shown by

SH DATA ($my_var)[d=($long_filename_string)]

Are there any limits in filename string length?  Or is Ferret truncating
filenames in some of its code?

I am using Ferret 6.9.
